Xewkija council recently held its second edition of Fiori d’Argenta – a three-day festival of culture, history, drama and traditions at St John the Baptist Square.

Several historical places were opened to the public, while singers, dancers and artists gave various performances.

Other activities included the traditional dinner in the square, a motor show, the huge traditional fig (Bajtar ta’ San Ġwann) pie, re-enactments, the St John bonfire, and a horse defilé, with the participation of the Precursor Philharmonic Society.

Also taking part were also the Ta’ Verna Folk Band and actors of the popular TV series D.R.E.A.M.S.
