Primary and secondary schools are invited to apply to visit the National Students Travel Foundation’s Science Expo which will be held from April 23 and 27 at Xrobb l-Għaġin Nature Park and Sustainable Development Centre, Marsaxlokk.

This year’s Science Expo will feature several activities regarding different aspects of Science, targeting various age groups. These include:

• ‘A pollutant’s tale’ lecture-demonstrations by Tim Harrison and Sarah Ruth Abel of the Bristol Chemlabs outreach team;

• Lecture-demonstrations by physicist Nardone Pasquale from Université Libre de Bruxelles;

• Talks by the Malta Medical Students Association;

• On-site tours regarding alternative energy by Nature Trust (Malta);

• An exhibition of projects by primary, secondary, 6th Form and University students conducted during various NSTF Science programmes;

• A film by Alan Deidun of marine life in Dwejra and Rdum Majjiesa;

• A Little Scientists’ Village coordinated by Mark Theuma of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology’s Institute of Art and Design.

This invitation is open to all schools but there are only a limited amount of places available and first preference will be given to those schools taking part in the NSTF science programmes, including the Art Science Contest, the School Contest for Young Scientists, the Contest for Young Scientists and the Malta Student Science Forum.

The closing date for applications is Friday. Following this date, the call for applications will be opened to all other schools.

The event will be open to the public on April 22 from 11 a.m till 4 p.m.
