The Maltese Under-21 netball team completed their commitments in the European Championship qualifying round in Northern Ireland last weekend with a 65-22 defeat to England.

The side coached by Helga Turban played at a par with England, a side composed of professional players.

However, their resistance was broken in the second half of the match when the English girls were finally able to impose their superiority over Malta U-21.

England won the four-team group and finished ahead of Wales. Malta, who had started the tournament with a 47-30 win over Northern Ireland, settled for third place.

Malta U-21’s Holly Robinson was voted as the tournament’s best player.
