It was a big outdoor celebration in Floriana and Valletta today as carnival activities continued with the grand defilé around the Granaries and a grotesque mask parade along Republic Street.

Organisers kept their fingers crossed as the sun shone and hoped for the stable weather to continue tomorrow and on Tuesday.

Both tomorrow and on Tuesday there will be a carnival band parade with the participation of carnival bands, children's dance group and isolated masks along the main streets of Valletta followed by dancing at St George's Square in the morning and a dancing competition and defilé in the Carnival Arena at the Granaries in Floriana in the afternoon.

On Monday celebrations will end with a parade along Republic Street with the participation of grotesque masks and band.

On Tuesday, the grand finale will take place in St Anne Street, Floriana.
