George Eynaud is holding his first solo show titled Dog City at Lily Agius Gallery in Sliema.

The exhibition will feature 18 paintings.

Having just finished his final year of fine art at Mcast, he has spent the remainder of his time putting together some of his best and latest work for this exhibition.

At the of 20, Mr Eynaud is quickly establishing himself as a talented and collectable painter.

He has already experimented with a multitude of media, materials and concepts to formulate a unique style coupled with an expressive handling of paint which has been likened to the Lucian Freud’s brushwork. He does, however, prefer to dissasociate himself from other artists and styles, being influenced by the pure emotion of subject matter, and in this case meloncholy subjects of a dark nature that turns a blind eye to the “typical”.

Viewers can expect to find paintings in watercolour and oil portraying dead whales, dolphins, fighting dogs, birds and townscapes.

This is not an exhibition for the faint-hearted lovers of colour, but rather one which would appeal to those who feel drawn towards talent or those having a keen interest in an up-and-coming Maltese contemporary visual artists.

Following this exhibition, Mr Eynaud will be going to the UK for his first year at Camberwell Arts College.

Opening today and running till September 29, the exhibition can be viewed at Lily Agius Gallery, Cathedral Mansions, 54 Cathedral Street, Sliema is open from Tuesday to Friday, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.; Satuday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
