Impressive scores were achieved during the weekend competition at Bidnija where the All Malta Trap shoot was organised by the Malta Shooting Sport Federation.

This annual event was on 125 clays – 75 shot on Saturday and 50 yesterday morning.

The best six then qualified for the barrage final on 25 flash targets with single barrel.

George Cassar showed he is in top form at the moment and went on to achieve a personal best score of 120/125 following rounds of 24, 23, 24, 25 and 24.

Cassar lowered his score to 19 in the barrage but still did well to finish first overall with a total 139/150.

Seasoned campaigner Frans Pace placed second on 138 (116+22) after a shoot-off with Jason John Aquilina (118+20). Pace claimed it at the seventh clay of the decider.

James Galea was fourth on 137 (115+22) and Jeffrey Pisani fifth (136 – 115+21). The other shooter in the barrage was Stephen Vella who had to settle for sixth place with 134 hits (115+19).

Five perfect straights of 25/25 were achieved. These were targeted by Cassar, Pace, Aquilina, James Galea and Brian Galea.
