A list of world class shooters are currently in Malta for the week-end’s Double Trap Grand Prix at the Malta Shoot Sport Federation ranges in Bidnija.
The first to arrive was Saad Almutairi, from Kuwait. He conducted a one-week training camp here and practised with William Chetcuti and Nathan Lee Xuereb, Malta’s representatives in Double Trap, in his build-up to the Grand Prix.
Sweden’s Hakan Dahlby re-portedly went straight to the shooting ranges on his arrival in Malta as Francesco d’Aniello who is leading the Italian contingent.
Finland’s Simo Koylinen is also expected to take part.
Official training will be held today with three rounds of 50 clays each.
Competition starts tomorrow at 9 a.m. with three rounds of 50 clays. The top six qualify for the barrage final which starts at around 2.30 p.m.
The Maltese shooting federation is urging local enthusiasts to visit the ranges during com-petition this weekend and give their backing to the local shooters.
There will be no charge at the entry.
The Grand Prix organisers are being assisted by Kunsill Malti għall-Isport and sponsors MSV Life, BOV, Blueline and Pintonino.
