Floriana have released Nigerian striker Daniel Nwoke, club president Johann Said said today.

He said the striker was meant to return to Malta for training with the team but had not shown up. His contract expires at the end of the month. Floriana has filed a complaint with the MFA about Nwoke’s behaviour.

Mr Said said the club has signed Argentine striker Julio Alcorse, formerly of Marsaxlokk, to replace him.

Floriana tomorrow face AEK Larnaca in the first leg of their Europa League second qualifying round at the Hibs Stadium. Kick off 7.30 p.m.
