Just over a year and a half ago, Deloitte released the first edition of the Performance magazine, a triennial investment management digest specifically aimed at experts in the field.

Throughout its first 18 months, the magazine has evolved into a global digest, covering a host of topics ranging from tax and regulatory developments to current key market trends, and providing insights into the major global forces influencing the investment management sector.

Initially launched by the Deloitte Luxembourg Investment Management practice, the first edition was released in December 2009 and essentially focused on the European investment management industry. The second and third editions extended their geographical area to cover Europe, the Middle East, and Africa while the most recent editions included contributions from the US and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation region.

The last edition was circulated among more than 15,000 investment management experts in over 30 countries, illustrating the evolution and growing success of the magazine. In Malta, Performance is distributed to the key players within the investment management sector.

Deloitte experts and international external asset management professionals have joined forces to contribute in-depth coverage of the most pertinent market issues.

The regional leaders of Deloitte Investment Management practices around the world, Stuart Opp (Partner Deloitte UK and Global Investment Management Leader), Cary Stier (Partner Deloitte US and America Investment Management Leader), Vincent Gouverneur (Partner Deloitte Luxembourg and EMEA Leader) and Jennifer Quin (Partner Deloitte China and APAC Leader), consider the magazine as a major collaborative success.

Stephen Paris, Financial Services Leader for Deloitte in Malta said: “Looking back at the first five editions of our publication, we are extremely pleased with its evolution.

We are not only proud of having overcome the uncertainty surrounding the inception of this project, but are also delighted to have been able to offer a platform for the sharing of views on some of the major issues shaping our environment.”

Mr Paris said the inception of this magazine comes at an opportune time for the financial services industry in Malta, which is growing from strength to strength whilst Malta is steadily evolving into an established jurisdiction of choice for the investment management sector.
