Valletta player Terence Scerri has been banned from going to a football ground anywhere on the Maltese islands for a year.

Supporters Tonio Zampa and Renald Briffa received the same ban for six months.

Mr Scerri was charged with trying to seriously injure Floriana player Christian Cassar, slightly injuring him and relapsing.

Mr Briffa was charged with slightly injuring a police officer and Mr Zampa with disobeying police orders and assaulting a policeman.

Earlier this week the Malta Football Association suspended Mr Scerri from all football activities for a year and a further five FA Trophy matches.
