Home Affairs Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici has refused to meet a prisoner who is claiming he knows who killed Raymond Caruana, but will only reveal the name in the minister's presence.

The inmate has been interviewed by Police Commissioner John Rizzo. The prisoner made his request to meet the minister through the newspaper l-orizzont.

However the minister said it is not within his competence as a minister to investigate crimes.

Caruana was killed inside the Nationalist Party club of Gudja on December 5, 1986. The shot was fired from outside the club.
