The Environmental Health Directorate warned retailers today that they must not accept stocks of tobacco products which do not include colour pictures as part of their health warning.

The regulations regarding the use of such photographs come into force on Wednesday.

The directorate said that cigarette packets not bearing pictorial health warnings may still remain for sale after Wednesday, but retailers must immediately refuse any cigarette products not in compliance with the regulations. Non-compliant  stock must be removed from sale by June 22.
