Xrobb l-Ghagin Nature Park inaugurated

The Xrobb l-Ghagin Nature Park and Sustainable Development Centre was inaugurated by the prime minister today.

Managed by Nature Trust (Malta), the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs and the University of Malta, the project is aimed at education and research into sustainable environmental solutions, particularly renewable energy.

The park includes 15,000 newly-planted trees and an eco-efficient building which will serve as an environmental education centre.

Speaking at the inauguration, Resources Minister George Pullicino said the government was working on other parks at Magħtab, Marsascala, Qortin Gozo, an extension of the Salini Park, extension of the Ta Qali Park, and a family Park at Mellieha.

There will be an open weekend this weekend between 10a.m. and 4 p.m. with a bus shuttle service from Tas-Silg.
