Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz, Gozo, is the first hotel in Europe to stop using chlorine to treat tap water, thanks to the introduction of a new ecological product, Eco Clear Prox, which upgrades the drinking water quality.

The new investment, launched by Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono last Tuesday, is in line with the Eco-Gozo vision which aims to improve the drinking water quality in Gozo.

Eco Clear Prox was developed by a Belgian company which strives for green solutions for the disinfection of public spaces, rooms, in process water and in drinking water.

It is the only hydrogen peroxidebased disinfectant to be recognised and authorised by the EU for use in drinking water.

For the third consecutive year, Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz was recently declared the Mediterranean’s Leading Spa Resort by the World Travel Awards. Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz is the first eco-certified hotel in Gozo.
