Marsaxlokk will be without two first-choice players for their key clash with Hibs on January 8 after captain Carlo Mamo and Ruben Gravata Guerreiro were given a one-match ban yesterday.

Mamo’s sending-off in Marsaxlokk’s 3-0 upset to Floriana triggered an automatic one-match suspension while midfielder Guerreiro has been banned after collecting his fourth yellow card.

Championship Pool contenders Floriana and Ħamrun, who will face each other on January 7, both had one player on the suspensions’ list.

Michael Mecerod, the Floriana forward, and Ħamrun midfielder Massimo Grima received a one-match suspension after both earned their fourth caution in their teams’ last outings.

Ivory Coast defender Sekou Tidiane Souare has been ruled out of Sliema’s match against Vittoriosa on January 8 after getting a fourth booking in the Blues’ 3-2 loss to Ħamrun Spartans.
