Senglea won the traditional Victory Day regatta in Grand Harbour this afternoon for the 21st time.

Cospicua placed second and Marsa third.

The races were a 'battle' between neighbours Cospicua and last year's winners Senglea, with the outcome being decided in the last race, which carried most points. Cospicua would have won the shield had they placed second in this race. However, they struggled to place third.

The centuries-old event attracted strong interest, particularly in the dockyard towns, with many people lining the bastions to cheer the rowers. Senglea supporters draped huge flags down the bastions along Senglea Point.

However, there were very few people on the Valletta side of Grand Harbour.

Category B was won by Kalkara, with Vittoriosa placing second and Senglea third.

The regatta was organised by the Malta Sports Council.
