Frans Pace captured a bronze medal after placing third at the Luciano Rossi Memorial Shoot, held recently in Italy.

Pace was part of a group of Maltese trap shooters who took part in the competition along with 260 other participants from eight different countries.

The evergreen Pace smashed 91 clays out of 100 to secure a top-six spot. In the barrage, Pace hit 20 to finish level with a Turkish shooter on 111 points. Pace lost the ensuing shoot-off 5-4 and had to settle for bronze. The competition was won by an Italian shooter.

MSSF trap shooters Brian Galea, Stephen Vella, Joe Cutajar, Anthony Sammut, Lino Galea and Charles Demanuele also participated in the Luciano Rossi Memorial Shoot.
