A 45-year-old man yesterday pleaded not guilty to attempted murder after allegedly using a knife on another man during an argument in Marsa.
Alfred Farrugia, of Marsa, denied trying to kill Troy Condorato, seriously injuring him, carrying a knife without a licence and relapsing at L-Amico bar at about midnight on Saturday.
Police Inspector Chris Pullicino told the court that the granting of bail was not ideal because of the man’s criminal record, the fact that witnesses still had to testify and that the charges were very serious.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke remanded him in custody.
