The Nationalist Party won four hamlets to the Labour Party's three yesterday in elections held yesterday for administrative committees, despite the fact that the PL gained 54.6 per cent of the vote.

The PL won a majority at Ħal Farruġ, Baħrija and Swatar, while the PN triumphed in Guardamangia, Tal-Virtù, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq and Burmarrad. The turnout was 36 per cent.

The PL said this result was particularly satisfying since most of the elections were in PN-leaning localities.
