Clive Farrugia was in fine form for skeet competition last weekend during a tight selection shoot at the Malta Shooting Sport Federation ranges in Bidnija.

Farrugia hit scores of 24 and 21 before a straight of 25 on Saturday. Yesterday, he added a 24 and a 22 for a 116 from a maximum of 125. This was an ISSF MQS.

Farrugia went on to add 22 in the barrage for a total of 138, just a point ahead of runner-up Darren Vella who smashed 24 in the final. Jason Sciberras was third on 123, way ahead of fourth-placed Elenio Mifsud on 114.

Chetcuti in front

William Chetcuti again dominated the Double Trap selection shoot when he managed scores of 45 (twice) and 48 for a total of 138-150.

Matthew Grech (40, 38, 42) is currently second on 120 and Nathan Lee Xuereb (38, 43, 38) third on 119.

The next competition at Bidnija will be the Muscat Cup - a trap selection shoot to be staged over the weekend.
