Stanley Cardona won the Breda Cup Trap Selection at the Bidnija ranges last weekend.

This competition was organised by the Malta Shooting Sport Federation over 125 clays with the best six shooters qualifying for the barrage finals.

The perfect weather attracted an encouraging number of Trap shooters to the range and the scores registered were indeed impressive with no fewer than three ISSF minimum qualifying scores - two 113s and a 112 - the highlight of the event.

Cardona finished with 133 points, just one better off than second-placed Jeffrey Pisani.

A straight of 25 clays was also achieved by Jason J. Aquilina during the competition.

A shoot-off had to determine the third place on the day, contested between Noel Attard and Aquilina as both finished with an equal score of 130.

Attard managed an extra 12 points in the shoot-off but Aquilina faltered after the 11th clay.
