Almost one year after it was uprooted by strong winds, the much-loved so-called Siġra tas-Salib (crucifix tree) on the Rabat road was trimmed and placed firmly upright in a base of concrete a few metres up from where it originally stood. The Aleppo tree earned its popular appellation because it is shaped like a crucifix.
