Ribery: Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has denied pushing for a move to Real Madrid and insisted he is staying put. "I never said I wanted to go to Real," the Frenchman was quoted as saying. "If I wanted to leave, I would have made an announcement. What bothers me is that I have never spoken about it."
Grygera: Juventus defender Zdenek Grygera has been linked with a move to Barcelona but the player's agent, Mino Raiola, believes the Czech Republic international will remain in Turin. Tennis: Jelena Jankovic clawed her way into the final of the WTA Cincinnati Open on Saturday night after beating Russian Elena Dementieva 7-6 (7/2), 0-6, 7-6 (8/6) in a scrappy semi-final. In last night's final, Jankovic, the fifth seed, was playing world number one Dinara Safina who needed just 56 minutes to post a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Italy's Flavia Pennetta earlier on Saturday.
Rugby Union: Daniel Carter has been named in a 26-man squad for New Zealand's Tri-Nations test against Australia in Sydney on Saturday. Carter, the All Blacks' first-choice flyhalf, played two matches in New Zealand's top-flight provincial competition in recent weeks, after being sidelined for six months by a serious Achilles injury.
