Clive Farrugia maintained his positive form by claiming the Pelican Skeet Trophy at the Bidnija ranges last weekend.

Farrugia is undoubtedly one of Malta's most promising skeet shooters. At the 2009 GSSE in Cyprus, he marked his debut by winning the bronze medal and, a few weeks later, he obtained a remarkable score of 117 from 125 while participating in the Mediterranean Games in Pescara.

During last weekend's skeet competition, Farrugia hit 22, 24 and 24 in Saturday's opening three rounds. Yesterday, he produced scores of 23 and 22 for a total of 115 from 125 to head the field going into the barrage.

In the final, Farrugia smashed 21 to finish with a winning total of 136.

Silvio Attard was second on 129 points (109+20), two points ahead of third-placed Jason Sciberras (105+22).

Darren Vella was fourth on 125 points (104+21), Joe Muscat fifth on 123 (105+18) and Noel Scicluna sixth on 117 (99+18).
