BONNICI - JOSÉ. Passed away on February 15 in the Philippines, aged 63. He leaves to mourn his loss his sons Iannis and Yorick and their mother Maria. His mother Muriel, his brothers, sisters and their families, other relatives and friends. A Mass in his memory will be held at a later date. May he rest in peace.

CILIA. On February 22, at Mater Dei Hospital, MICHAEL widower of Maria, née Buhagiar, of Żebbuġ, Malta, aged 88, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Ċensina and her husband Austin, Rose and her husband George residing in New York, Philip and his wife Myriam, Victor and his wife Edwina, Lino and his wife Marisa, Catherine and her husband Alexander, his grandchildren Romuald and his wife Sonia, Marygrace and her husband Adrian, Christopher, Claude, Mathieu, Alexia, Damian, Benjamin, Elisa Marie, Gabriel, Christabel and Marie Clare, great-grandchildren Martina, Andrew, Luke and Jake, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3 p.m. for St Philip parish church Żebbuġ, where mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Żebbuġ. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

FERRANTE DARBOIS. On Monday, February 23, at Zammit Clapp Hospital, surrounded by his family Dr. HENRI FERRANTE DARBOIS, PhC, MD, aged 93 of Swieqi, former Superintendent of Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Minka, née Kovacic, his daughters Marinka, Anna, Nadine and her husband Gianni Merola, Tanja and her husband Joseph Cassar, his grandchildren Mateja and her husband Reuben Farrugia, Giovanni and his fiancée Martina, Valentina, Giuli and Luigi, and Caroline, his great-grandsons, Max and Alex, his sister Evelyn Spiteri Maempel, his brothers Frank and Lino, nephews and nieces, his dedicated friend Carmel Zammit Pulo, and his many relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Zammit Clapp Hospital tomorrow at 8.15 a.m. for the Immaculate Conception parish church, Ta' l-Ibraġ, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.45 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at St Joseph Ward at Zammit Clapp Hospital and St James Hospital. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Launch of book on Dürer

Rev. Dr Charlo Camilleri's book, Con La Passione Incise Nel Cuore: Riflessione E Pensieri Sulla Passione Incisa Di Albrecht Dürer, will be launched at the Carmelite Priory Museum, Mdina, on Friday at 7.30 p.m.

An exhibition of drawings inspired by Durer, the German Renaissance artist, executed by Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci will be on display.

The event is open to the public.

Band clubs' general meeting

The Malta Band Clubs' Association will be holding its general meeting on Friday at the Vilhena Band Club in Floriana.

The agenda will include a discussion on the present band club situation and a report released during the seminar organised by the College of Parish Priests last weekend.

Bus lottery

The winners of the Board a Bus and Win Lottery, organised by the Malta Transport Authority for January, were Anna Micallef who placed first and won €698.80, Alfred Muscat was awarded the second prize of €349.40, and Phyllis Chircop was given the third prize of €116.46.
