(Adds half-time score)

A partial power failure this evening caused a 10-minute interruption of the Malta-Portugal World Cup qualifier being played at Ta' Qali.

Some of the floodlights went out just minutes into the game, forcing the referee to stop play. The game resumed after about 10 minutes when the lights came on again.

The match is being watched by one of the biggest crowds ever to turn up for a match of the national team.

At half-time Portugal were winning 1-0 after an own goal by Malta's Brian Said.
