A statue of St George which was badly damaged in a fall during a procession at St Paul Church, Toronto, has now been restored.

The statue, the pride of the Maltese-Canadian Community, was restored by Tony Camilleri, formerly of Mosta. It was blessed last Sunday in a ceremony conducted by Fr Karm Borg.

Mr Joe Sherri, secretary of the Festa San Gorg Association, thanked all those who had helped in the restoration work.

The statue of St George is a copy of the statue of St George at the parish of that name in Qormi and was taken to Canada by a migrant some 50 years ago.
