The fifth International Building and Construction Exhibition, 'Libya Build 2008', has been held in Tripoli.

In parallel to Libya Build, the Libyan Contracting Union Council also organised the first International Electric and Mechanical Engineering Exhibition, EMEX 2008.

Over 300 companies took part in the two events, including six companies from Malta: Advent Ltd, Andica, Capital Trading, Hal Mann, Vassallo Builders and Würth (Malta). Their participation was co-ordinated by Malta Enterprise with the assistance of Malta Enterprise's Libya Office.

The Maltese companies exhibited a range of products while Malta Enterprise had its own stand with offering information about trade and investment opportunities in Malta.

Libyan Housing Projects chairman Abuzed Omar Dorda visited the Maltese stands. Malta's Ambassador in Tripoli Joseph Cassar was introduced to the Maltese companies by Noel Hollier, commercial counsellor at Malta Enterprise's Libya office.
