During Notte Bianca I was one of the team which hosted visitors to the World War II air raid shelter, former crypt and cloistered vault beneath St Augustine's parish church.

While discussing the project with an elderly lady who was visiting, she referred to a stone model of the old Mandragg and said that it was so precise that "one could easily recognise all the alleys and corners". However, her memory fails her as to its whereabouts or whether it still survives.

As one of the leading volunteers in the rehabilitation and conservation works at this complex, I have asked both the Provincial, Fr Lucian Borg, OSA, and our parish priest Fr Saviour Grima, OSA, to consider including a small museum in the part where the remains of the old church by Girolamo Cassar are located.

It would be very interesting to photograph this model and to produce a computer-generated 3D image of it. Especially when the parish and the Mandragg were once adjacent to each other and hardly any photos of the Mandragg remain.
