Five placements are available for students from the Faculty of Arts, Mediterranean Institute, and the Faculty of Education to go on a students exchange during the first semester of the 2008/2009 academic year at one of the following Canadian universities: York University, Trent University, or the University of Prince Edward Island.

Course units taken at the host Canadian university must include at least one course dealing directly with migration experiences and multi-culturalism while the rest may be selected in areas related to the students' studies in Malta.

The exchange forms part of CEMMENTI (Canada Exchanges with the Mediterranean: Migration Experiences and their impact on Nationalism, Trans-Nationalism, and Identity), an EU project involving the universities of Malta, Bologna, Athens and the three Canadian universities.

For further information, contact the project co-ordinator Clare Thake Vassallo via e-mail: clare.thake-vassallo@um.edu.mt.

Applications are to reach the office of the Secretary of the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, room 313, by April 30.
