I thought that Charles Mangion, who is aspiring to be Malta's Deputy Prime Minister after the next general election, knew better but I was clearly misled. During last Sunday's Malta Labour Party mass meeting he said that the Nationalists have a different DNA.

Why are Dr Mangion and his party verging on the racist with people of a different political opinion from theirs?

Is this the type of "open-mindedness" we can expect from the MLP? Is this the new beginning the MLP is calling for, or are we going back to the 1980s? Will a "new" Labour government, if elected, be open for people with "a different DNA"?

Politicians like Dr Mangion are making the choice for the next election that much simpler.
