Bay music awards presented in spectacular show

Some 5,000 people turned up for a spectacular Bay Music Awards night at the Eden Arena last night.

The circus themed event was a stunning success characterised by standing ovations and jovial cheers from the enthusiastic crowd.

The winner of the Best Newcomer went to Salt while Best Dance Tune went to ‘Love is no Possession' by JJoy and Kirtsy Hawkshaw . Thet Best Solo Artist award was handed to second time winner Ira Losco.

There was wild applause to Winter Moods for their song ‘Marigold' who received Best Band and Best Single.

The Icon Award went to The Characters for a lifetime achievement of success. The show climaxed as The Characters performed a BMA medley of ‘Which Way Does the Wind Blow' and ‘Down By The Water'.

The night came to a close with a special ending featuring Freddie Quattromani and rock & roll legend, Freddie Portelli.
