To have such a low opinion of our beloved mother tongue implies an inferiority complex with regard to how we perceive ourselves in the world. We're still hypnotised by the colonial effect that English is better than Maltese. Maltese and English are equal. Both are important to our survival, English as our connection with the world and Maltese to give us our identity.
