The amount of waste generated over Easter will increase due to the exchange of cards, Easter eggs and waste from entertaining.

In view of this, WasteServ is encouraging the public to continue to reduce and re-use packaging so that less waste is sent directly to the engineered landfills.

When shopping for groceries, the public is encouraged to select products with less packaging and, if entertaining, it should choose loose fruit and vegetables and buy only what is needed in order to help reduce waste.

The public is asked to break up and separate Easter egg packaging and recycle it in the bring-in sites.
