A Maltese photographer, Melvin Bugeja, LMPA, LMIPP, has won a top international prize with one of his photographs. He won the Classical Portrait category of the Master Photographer of the Year Awards 2003, held recently in the UK.

Mr Bugeja beat off competition from over 1,000 entries from master photographers around the globe to take the coveted title. Over 300 professional photographers attended a prestigious award ceremony held at the Hilton in Coventry.

The winning images from the competition will make up an annual exhibition which will travel to a number of countries during the next 12 months.

The competition is held yearly by the Master Photographers Association of UK.

A delighted Melvin Bugeja sincerely thanked the local professional photographers association, the Malta Institute of Professional Photographers, for their support.
