Daniel Nwoke's reward for his key contribution to Msida St Joseph's title-winning Division One campaign could be a contract with an overseas club.

Sources very close to the newly-crowned Division One champions have confirmed to The Times that they have established a number of contacts with foreign clubs with a view of enhancing Nwoke's chances of moving abroad.

Belgian club Genk, who had former Malta skipper Carmel Busuttil in their ranks, are believed to be keen on giving Nwoke a short trial. The sources said that Nwoke has been invited to play a friendly match for Genk in the very near future.

Two other Belgian clubs, Anderlecht and Mechelen, Ancona of Italy and Czech Republic outfit Sparta Prague have also been approached over Nwoke who has been one of the best players in the Division One League.

Nwoke was first brought to Malta by Birkirkara before the start of last season but the 19-year-old Nigerian failed to clinch a contract. After spending last season with Naxxar Lions, Nwoke moved to Msida where he played his best football since he came to Malta.
