Three new ambassadors presented their diplomatic credentials to President Guido de Marco at the Palace, Valletta, yesterday.

They are Mr Libor Secka of the Czech Republic, Ms Byrganym Altimova of Kazakhstan and Mr Jean Faltz of Luxembourg.

Mr Secka, a graduate in International Economic Relations, is also his country's ambassador to the EU.

A former teacher, Ms Altimova was appointed ambassador to Israel in 1997 and to Italy last year.

Mr Faltz is a graduate in political science. Before he was appointed ambassador to Malta he worked as director of international economic relations in Luxembourg's foreign ministry.
