The Zewwieqa promenade project in Mgarr Harbour, Gozo, will be completed next month, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said this afternoon.

He was taken on a tour of the €5m project this morning, accompanied by Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono.

80% of the project is being funded by the EU.

The project, in progress for several years, covers an area of 18,000 square metres, with a 700-metre stretch along the coast. It includes new paving, facilities for fishermen and the yacht marina and a car park.

A restored Dagħjsa tal-Latini will decorate a section of the project.
