Christopher Scerri, 31, Zebbug this morning pleaded not guilty to two thefts – one from a house in Mdina on April 3 and another from a house in Gzira on March 27.

Mr Scerri, who appeared in court in a wheelchair, fractured both his legs when he jumped off the roof of the Mdina house.

He was also charged with relapsing.

Because of his condition, Magistrate Edwina Grima granted Mr Scerri bail under house arrest against a personal guarantee of €5,000.

Lawyer Franco Debono appeared for the accused.
