Thirty-three drivers are taking part in the Red Bull Summer Challenge at Badger Karting. Last Sunday's event consisted of an eight-minute qualifying session and a race of 20 minutes.

In Group One, Karl Cilia was in an unstoppable form and claimed both pole and race to take maximum points. Zach Zammit retained his top place overall thanks to his second placing.

Veteran Joseph Zammit had a solid race in Group Two and he too topped both qualifier and race.

Young Ryan Scerri was doing very well in second place until he was given a stop-and-go penalty allowing Keith Aquilina and Steve Camilleri to take full advantage and claim the other two podium places respectively.

Group Three pole went to Mark Berman with Adam Bugeja and Philip Tabone starting the race in second and third places.

The race lived up to expectations and from the word go Berman shot into the lead with Bugeja in hot pursuit.

Berman then had to enter the pits for repairs, going on to make a splendid recovery and finishing fourth. Bugeja was the winner ahead of Tabone and Karl Abela.

In Group Four Josef Spiteri showed he is returning to his true form with a very important win. He is now joint second in the overall standings. Peter Bugeja was second, ahead of Jacob Borg.

The next Challenge event will be held on Sunday evening.
