Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has hinted that youth-team director Filippo Galli could be the club's next first-team coach.

The 47-year-old Galli, a former Rossoneri defender, currently heads the club's youth academy at Milanello and worked as a technical assistant to Leonardo last term.

Berlusconi said: "When it comes to selecting a coach, AC Milan considers very important the experience at youth level, because it develops a coach a lot from a psychological standpoint."

Milan are looking for a new man at the helm after first-year coach Leonardo parted company with the club last weekend, having guided the team to a third-place finish in Serie A.
