Dear Junior News, my parents and I won the lottery once. It was a beautiful sum of money. My parents told me that we could go for a holiday in France. It was for one week and we were going to Paris. I had a great surprise when my mum told me we were going to visit Disney Land. When we arrived in France we went directly to a hotel. It was in Disney Land and it was a luxurious and beautiful hotel. Since it was very late, we all went to sleep in a comfortable room.

The next day came and we went to explore the huge park. There were many types of rides, attractions and Disney characters, like Snow White, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse and many others. We went on the roller coaster and it was an exciting experience. There was a spooky ride. First we went in a large "dinghy". After a while, we went up a very straight slide then we went slowly down a stream of water and then we went full speed in the water. My parents and I got wet all over. It was a great adventure.

There were lots of different, lovely rides. In a week we rode them all. On the last day we bought some lovely souvenirs and a lot of soft toys. Oh! What a pity the holiday had to end! We flew back to Malta and our home. It was a brilliant experience and I will never forget it for my whole life.

What a lovely way to celebrate a lucky win, Mandy. Even if you're never so lucky again you'll always have that exciting experience to remember. And if anyone reading your letter is ever lucky enough to go too, your excellent letter has given us a good idea of what to look for.

Dear Junior News, I am fascinated by dinosaurs and Jurassic Park films are my favourite. I have read a very interesting book called Dinosaurs, by Colin Clark. Dinosaurs were reptiles that existed around 230 million years ago and lived in a period known as the age of reptiles. The word dinosaur means terrible lizard in Greek.

There were more than 200 different types of dinosaurs! They are often classified as meat eaters - carnivores, like Tyrannosaurus Rex, or plant eaters - herbivores, like Triceratops. They all looked different. Some walked on two legs, others on four. Some were very fast, like Velociraptor, some slow and lumbering, like Ankylosaurus. Some had horns and spikes like Triceratops, or bumpy skin.

Dinosaurs died out around 65 million years ago. Scientists say that a giant asteroid crashed to Earth around this time and caused catastrophic changes to the climate. It was probably freezing cold and dinosaurs couldn't adapt to the new weather conditions.

It is understandable why dinosaurs are so fascinating, Kurt. In spite of the mind-blowing time span since they disappeared, people are still finding out new things about them.
