Today’s mobile workforce can now trade in their laptop for a uSD drive, thanks to an innovative new mobile security technology from Aloaha, an international company which develops its software in Malta.

The new Aloaha Secure Stick shrinks a laptop’s hard drive, including the entire operating system, software applications, and files, smartcard-encrypted onto a secure uSD drive. The result is a totally secure “virtual machine on a stick”. Mobile users can plug the uSD based USB drive into just about any computer or laptop, and just boot up their personal machine from the encrypted uSD of the stick and have instant, secure access to their own personal desktop and files.

This technology runs the operating system directly off the encrypted uSD drive, meaning the user’s files never touch the hard drive of the borrowed computer, and the device leaves no trace that it was ever there.

Each Aloaha Secure Stick contains a fully encrypted drive and delivers smartcard protection against today’s most insidious malware threats, including nearly undetectable root kits, the company reassured.

With this stick, employees who need to work at home or on travel, or field operatives who deploy around the country or around the globe, can carry not just their files but their entire computer on a small USB drive. The encrypted USB drives include at least 4GB of encrypted storage and are available with up to 32GB. Currently it supports 45 different smartcards and card profiles.

“Aloaha’s USB flash drives bring the power of authentication, encryption, identity management and privacy to government, businesses and consumers. It allows enterprises of all sizes, government agencies, the military, and other organisations to take back control of the mobile data that has been leaking out of their organisations due to the uncontrolled proliferation of USB drives,” the company said.
