In the only match from the top flight last weekend, Nadur Youngsters were held to a draw by SK Victoria Wanderers.

The Wanderers were seeking to win all three points to move away from the drop zone but in the end they had to settle for a draw as Nadur's title aspirations were dented as they are now trailing leaders Victoria Hotspurs by four points.

The Wanderers almost scored on 14 minutes when Mark Buttigieg's free-kick bounced in front of goal and ended just over the crossbar. However, Victoria opened the score soon after thanks to a Joseph Vella free-kick that surprised keeper Steve Sultana.

The Wanderers could have doubled the score five minutes from the break but an Ige Adesina shot hit the side netting.

It did not take Nadur too long to draw level after the break as on 48 minutes Andre de Souza hit home from a free-kick.

SK Victoria, however, could have regained the lead on 50 minutes but Sultana was on the right spot to keep out an Adesina shot.

Nadur doubled up their efforts as the minutes ticked by but the Wanderers still had the better chances to score again from Adesina's set-piece efforts.

One minute from time, Wanderers keeper Adrian Parnis saved the point for his side when he turned to corner an excellent shot from the distance by Claudio Antunes.

Division Two

Munxar Falcons inflicted a 4-1 defeat on Żebbuġ Rovers in a clash with the third spot in the standings at stake. Munxar paved the way to an easy win with three goals in the opening 25 minutes through Joseph Cordina, Joseph Calleja and Joseph Mizzi.

Mario Azzopardi made it 4-0, 15 minutes from the end of the match and the Rovers scored a consolation goal through Sylvan Galea on 90 minutes.

In another Division Two match, lowly Qala and Għarb earned a point each after a 1-1 draw.

Għarb scored first through Roy Vella in the opening half but Qala's efforts were rewarded in stoppage time following John Rapa's equaliser.
