A 26-year-old woman was yesterday found dead by her father at her home in San Ġwann in what the police believe is a drug-related death.

Kelly Micallef was found lying on her bed at 12.30 p.m. with drug paraphernalia nearby, sources said. The house is in Is-Sebuqa Street.

The woman was questioned by the police in 2004 after she was found in a house in Qormi together with Marco Pace, known as Il-Pinzell, after a six-hour stand-off with the police.

Mr Pace was subsequently charged with the attempted murder of police officers after he fired at them from the house.

In 2007, Ms Micallef was conditionally discharged for one year after she admitted damaging her mother's car.

The court had heard that her mother, Michelle, had forgiven her and that she had a clean police record, besides apologising for the crime.

An autopsy is expected to be carried out today to determine the cause of death.
