Family Conflict Major Cause of Childhood Unhappiness, reveals The Times (January 28). Well, that certainly came as a surprise to me. I thought the major source of childhood unhappiness was being made to eat broccoli and wash behind your ears.

Other groundbreaking discoveries I've just come across: standing in the rain can make you wet, women enjoy shopping and spending money, breathing is good for you, marketing and advertising can turn otherwise well-adjusted people into self-absorbed cretins and approval-junkies, and a link seems to exist between skydiving without a parachute and an obituary popping up with your name on it.

No more revelations for today please. I still need to come to terms with all these shattering eruptions of clarity.
