Yellowjet water taxis plan to start a new water taxi service in early October.
The first water taxi “Princess Jahzara” will be on show at the forthcoming Valletta boat show between September 24 and 27.
The planned service will have its base in Grand Harbor where introduction of further craft will be made available to join the fleet, a series of finance and leasing schemes for local entrepreneurs is being set up for persons wishing to establish their own small business.
Online booking, operator training and website service availability are also being currently set up to aid the service operation.
Ten water taxis are planned to operate over the next 18 months.
The company also plans to set up manufacturing facilities in Malta enabling them to export the completed boats direct from Malta to there customer base.
Their purpose-built water taxis are presently built in the UK and carry 12 persons with a single operator, designed specifically as a passenger carrying craft they can manoeuver well at low speed and can offer express transfers with speeds up to 35 knots.
With over 1.5 million passengers carried to date the water taxis are tried and tested all over the world.
