The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux in Mdina has been named one of the top 10 castle hotels in the world by Fox News, a cable and satellite television news channel owned by the Fox Entertainment Group.

Foxnews.com averages an estimated 25 million unique visitors per month.

This accolade follows features in Condé Nast's Vanity Fair, The Wall Street Journal, Diplomat Magazine, and visits by celebrities such as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Sharon Stone, Orlando Bloom, Jennifer Anniston, Bruce Willis, Simply Red's Mick Hucknall, Josef Calleja, Lucio Dalla, Rupert Everett, and a raft of VIP's, politicians, entrepreneurs, business leaders and other prominent figures.

Some of the other glamorous properties in Fox's global top 10 include the 13th century Château du Peyruzel in France, 900-year-old Amberley Castle in the UK, the Taj Lake Palace in Rajasthan "Rising like a mirage from the center of Lake Pichola", and the "mecca for royalty, heads of state and Hollywood stars" sitting in 442 acres on Long Island the Oheka Castle Hotel.

Owned by the Zammit Tabona family, the 17th century palace and boutique hotel contains 17 individually-designed rooms, each with period décor including original paintings, antique tapestries and elegant furnishings.
