I think that telephone companies should wake up to their environmental responsibility. If you buy a mobile telephone card it is wrapped individually in plastic, packs of cards are sealed again in plastic and I know for sure that deliverymen prepare each order in a plastic bag. All this to protect what is essentially a very precious item which is in fact just a code number. Banks send much more important card numbers on paper.

I am absolutely sure that this procedure can be done using recyclable paper or even degradable plastic with the same efficiency. The telephone companies in Malta are major players in our societies. It is only fair that they make that extra effort to help the environment. Ironically more fresh air could mean more people going outdoors and more mobile telephone usage.

Wake up please... little things make a big difference.
