Wirt Għawdex has expressed concern over the lack of a permanent representive in Gozo for the Superintendence for Cultural Heritage. This is in spite of The Malta Environment and Planning Authority's order that this sensitive site should be monitored by the Superintendence.

It is, therefore, very difficult to keep a constant vigil on such works, with the possibility that any archaeological finds will be completely destroyed.
